Structure of abrasive material
The structure of coated abrasive material is shown in the drawing below.
A layer of primer binder is placed on a paper or canvas base, in which abrasive grains are embedded and reinforced with an additional layer of potting binder.
The abrasive material consists of three basic layers:
- abrasive grain
- primer binder and potting binder
- substrates
